Whew . . . we are home from a very long but fun and adventuresome beach week! We left last Friday the 29th to head to Gulf Shores for a big joint family week. The first half was "suppose" to be spent at The Beach Club with my family and the second half was spent with Brandon's family in Orange Beach. However, Hurricane Gustav had other plans! We got down there Friday night to calm waters and woke up Saturday morning to a beautiful sunny day! The water was as still as the lake . . . "the calm before the storm!" We enjoyed the beach . . . me having to put a trash bag over my cast to walk on the sand . . . and we enjoyed the pool . . . me sitting on the side with one leg in the pool and hoping I didn't get soaked by splashing kids! Sounds like fun, right?! Carter kept calling the pool, "Mickey Pond." The pool did look much like Mickey Mouse and in the TV show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the pond is shaped like Mickey so it is called Mickey Pond! All day Carter wanted to go to Mickey Pond. He wasn't overly interested in the beach the first day maybe because he was hoping to find Mickey at the pool! We took pictures that night and enjoyed a yummy shrimp boil and watched football!
