North Georgia Mountains
We took the kids to BJ Reece Apple House in the Georgia Mountains to go apple picking this weekend. My parents (Mimi and Pop Pop) were here this weekend so they went with us. Carter enjoyed every single minute! We picked about 25 lbs. of apples in the orchard and came home with delicious apple bread, apple cider doughnuts, apple fritters, apple pie, apple cider, our 25 lbs. of apples we picked and tomatoes from their garden. I spent all afternoon yesterday making applesauce for Campbell and apple bread for our neighbors and Carter's teachers. We had a great family weekend of apples and football . . . Auburn won so we were happy and Alabama beat Georgia so my dad was happy!!!

This past weekend our dear friends Katie and Josh and their son Hampton came to visit. We had a great time as always! Saturday night we endured the Auburn game and I am secretly hoping those Tigers ran laps this week! Then on Sunday we all went to the Mets/Braves game. The Mets lost too! We had fun though. It was Carter's first Mets game. He did pretty well. He sat with Brandon much of the time and carefully observed the players! He learned how to slide in to the bases! Same Sunday night at home, Carter ran laps in our kitchen and "slid" everywhere!

Auburn kids

Another hair cut

I am losing count of all of Carter's hair cuts! He got a lot taken off this time and looks like a big boy now; most of the curls are gone . . . for this week! This trip may have been his favorite because he got to "drive" Lightening McQueen! Carter is in total awe of Lightening McQueen; I think we watched the movie Cars about 10 times on vacation. When I asked Carter what he wanted to be for Halloween, his response . . . "Iting AQen" So the search is on!

2nd dentist appointment

Campbell just smiles the whole time
Carter had his routine dentist appointment the other day. Once again, he did great! Dr. Mike was impressed with Carter's willingness to cooperate! Carter's dentist is awesome! He has a beautiful office with murals all over the walls of an African safari! Dr. Mike is wonderful, the staff is great; it is an all around wonderful doctor's office! I wish they took adults!

Campbell's 1st cracker

So with the first tooth I decided to give Campbell her 1st cracker to try. She basically took one bite, made a very funny face then mashed it up on the tray! She'll get it one day!

It's not the beach

It's not the beach but it works! Carter still misses the beach and asks every day when he wakes up if he will get to go to the beach or pool!
Thanks Uncle Gary for my fun shirt!
These were just "some" of the shells that Carter found that washed up after the hurricane! You think he will now if some disappear?!

8 months, 1 tooth and curls

Happy 8 months!

Can just barely see the curl
As happy as can be!

Campbell came home from the beach a little different . . . she turned 8 months old on Sept. 2nd, some curls appeared on Sept. 5th and her first tooth sprouted on Sept. 6th! What a big girl she is becoming; but still only weighing in at about 16 lbs.! She is going to be a tall little lady!

To sum it up

Either waving or wishing she were 4!
Playing frisbee

Loving the sand

Madi enjoying the beach
Campbell sleeping in Mimi's lap

We had a fun beach trip. It was tiring, packing and unpacking so many times, the kids waking up at 6am every morning (gotta love Central time). all the sunscreen applications and wrapping my cast up to go to the beach, and late naps for the kids but nonetheless it was fun. We made many memories and thanks to the hurricane, I don't think we will ever forget this trip! However, there are some positives about going in September and during a hurricane . . . the most beautiful and huge shells wash up after the storm, less crowds, no waiting for a table at dinner, easy to drive anywhere and no fighting with sand space on the beach! We look forward to the next beach trip, just not in September!
