I love trucks
Carter loves trucks these days. He likes cars too but he has the best time playing in Brandon's truck.
Update on the Van Orden kids:
Baby #2: While she still has no name, she is growing and moving a lot. Hopefully by the time she arrives she will have a name. According to the books she weighs 1.5 pounds so far. Carter is very fond of his baby sister already and knows exactly where she is. While I am sure he has no clue how his world is going to change we are all loving his excitement of the baby so far. We are in the process of working on the nursery/guest bedroom. The plan is to transition Carter to a twin bed and the baby will have his crib! Oh my!
Carter: He is as active as every 17 month old boy probably is! He now knows how to climb on everything and thankfully get down as well! He is getting his 13th and 14th teeth right now. So far it hasn't interrupted his 12 hours of sleep each night; knock on wood. He knows lots of sign language but we are working on the words as well! He can say about 8 words or so and he can have a very lengthy conversation with you or anything; if only we knew what he was saying!

Playing baseball
Future ball player!
Check out that form! Throwing with the right . . .
throwing with the left!
On Sunday Brandon had his last baseball game. It was the third game of the play-offs. After the game Carter enjoyed playing on the field. He was right at home! Carter discovered a bag of baseballs and proceeded to take them all out and practice his pitching arm or arms! As of right now, Carter throws with his right arm sometimes and with his left arm sometimes! Who knows, he may just be a MLB player one day!

Folly Beach, SC
We just got back from a wonderful end of summer week at Folly Beach, SC. Brandon's family flew in from NY and PA and we all met at the beach. Folly Beach is about 12 miles from Charleston, SC. We had a really good time and enjoyed the last few days of summer. We spent 1 day touring Charleston and learning all about it's history. We rode a fun horse drawn carriage through the city being pulled by Bandit. We spent lots of time at the beach and pool and enjoyed just listening to the waves. Carter still wasn't very sure of the rushing waves. He would walk from the chairs to the tip of the water and turn around and walk back. He did this for about an hour. Every now and then he would let his feet get wet. He much preferred looking for anyone that had a ball. Carter loved playing in the sand and looking for seashells. We had a wonderful time with family and look forward to an annual trip each year. Thanks Mim and Uncle Gary for such a fun week!
