Vacuums aren't bad

Carter is terrfied everytime I vacuum! Maybe I vacummed too much when he was an infant while sleeping and he had nightmares! Who knows! We bought him a play vacuum in hopes that would help ease his fears. He loves his play vacuum and has been "vacumming" ever since we took it out of the box, it even has similar noises as the real thing. So yesterday we got out the real vacuum to see if this toy attempt had worked! He isn't cured yet! At least he can look at the vacuum and walk by it without screaming and crying! But when I turned the vacuum on, his fears came rushing back. Carter was shaking and crying as usual over this mundane chore! I am sure it is the noise that bothers him the most. Hopefully one day he will get over his fear! Notice that his curls are gone too; at least for a week! Carter had his 4th hair cut yesterday! It's very short but hopefully that means we won't have to go back so soon!

A happy 30th

I celebrated my 30th birthday on Sunday! While I wasn't excited about such a milestone it wasn't bad. My parents came for the weekend for Brandon and I to have an evening out on Saturday. We had so much fun. We started with a movie followed by dinner at McCormick and Schmick's which was then followed by chocolate fondue at The Melting Pot. It was all so delicious! On my actual birthday on Sunday we went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner and also enjoyed some of there yummy cheesecakes! All in all, it wasn't too bad turning 30. Though, I think I will be forever 29 or maybe 25 :o)

Waiting . . .

So what do you do with a 16 month old while waiting for a delayed flight at the airport . . . give him whatever keeps him happy! Carter loves the cell phone these days. Every time he sees someone on the phone he looks for mine. In the airport, everyone is on the phone! We were in New York over the weekend for a wedding and of course we were delayed leaving Atlanta!

We're having a . . .

GIRL!

We found out today that Carter is going to have a little sister. We are all very excited and look forward to adventures with a girl this time around! She weighed 9 ounces and looks beautiful already. She appeared to be very photogenic because she was moving all over the place to have her pictures taken!

Future chore

Carter enjoyed watching Brandon cut the grass today. He stood at the window and watched him the whole time! I am sure he has no clue this will be his future chore one day :o)

This is what happens when you play outside the day before portraits! Carter slipped and fell and hit his chin on the tree in the first picture. The picture of him by the tree was before he fell. The 2 pictures that follow are a result from his fall. Needless to say, we aren't having portraits taken today! We have rescheduled for next week as long as all goes well between now and then!

Carter had fun playing with Jacob at the park yesterday. I think Jacob enjoyed watching Carter walk around. The weather was so nice! It felt like early Fall!

Pool Party

On Saturday we went to a pool party for our Sunday school class. Carter and Vivian had a fun time in the pool. As you can see, Carter is taking good care of Vivian!

Saturday morning

Carter spent Saturday morning playing with Bailey's crate. He had the best time climbing in and opening and closing the crate door. He thought it was the funniest thing! If only life were that simple! Bailey enjoyed watching Carter, although deep down, I am sure he wasn't happy!

3rd hair cut

Over the weekend Carter got his 3rd hair cut! His hair grows so fast! Most of the curls were cut off, but don't worry, they will grow back.

July 4th with Viv

On July 4th we went to Leigh and Mark's house for a cookout with the kids. We tried to set Carter and Vivian up for a photo shoot but I think they just might be past that stage! They did have fun with the flags though and kept taking them away from each other! Vivian is an Auburn fan too so I can see a bright future for both of them!

Carter's brother or sister

We had our 2nd ultrasound on Tuesday. At the time of the ultrasound I was 12 weeks 5 days! It's amazing! He or she is only 3 inches and measuring normally! We have many pictures but this is my favorite of our little one just relaxing!

Stone Mountain

Father's Day weekend we spent that Saturday at Stone Mountain park. GE had their annual family picnic so we enjoyed the day together. Carter had so much fun walking around!

Play date

Carter had a play date with his friend Vivian today! Though Vivian was asleep when we got there, Carter enjoyed exploring all her toys. Later Vivian woke up and they had lots of fun playing. Carter was showing off his walking skills while Vivian watched in amazement! Pretty soon they will both we running all over the place!

Surprise

Surprise . . . this is our latest news! Carter is going to be a big brother in January 2008! My due date is the 11th but we all know how that goes!

The start of Summer

We just got back yesterday from a wonderful trip to the beach. We went to Orange Beach in Gulf Shores with my parents (Mimi and Pop) and my brother Kirk and his wife Lacy. We all had a great time and Carter enjoyed hist first trip to the beach! He LOVED the sand! The ocean took some getting warmed up to but by the second day he was liking it better. Carter enjoyed spashing in the pool after a day at the beach! Thankfully Carter didn't try to eat the sand like I was expecting! Do I see a sand table in our future?!

We had a fun Mother's Day afternoon at the pool. Carter loved the pool, much better than last year! The picture on the top was taken July of last year. Carter enjoyed playing in his float yesterday and loved kicking his feet! I think Carter is really going to have lots of fun in the sun this summer!

To Grandmother's house we go

On Saturday we went to my grandmother's house in Troy, Alabama to celebrate Mother's Day! Carter enjoyed sporting his new sunglasses! We had a great day celebrating Moms!

This picture was taken back in February when our friends Katie, Josh and baby Hampton were here to visit. We were out looking at houses and the boys decided they needed a nap! I love how their heads are both tilted the same way. How peaceful they both are!

Fun with Jacob

Last week Carter had a play date with our neighbor Jacob; he's 8 months old. They had lots of fun playing. Their favorite thing to play with was this plastic bowl in the picture! It sure doesn't take much to make them happy!
